Shipping after February 27, 2015 Tomasz Szlagor -Curtiss P-40 Warhawk (Tomahawk / Kittyhawk)
The Curtiss P-40, known to the Americans as the Warhawk and their British Commonwealth allies as the Tomahawk and Kittyhawk, fought on nearly all fronts of World War II, serving in American, British, Australian, New Zealand, South African, Canadian, French, Chinese, Dutch and Soviet. The American Warhawks have entered the service of nine USAAF Air Forces: 5th (Australia, New Guinea, Philippines); 6. (Central America); 7. (Middle Pacific); 9. (Middle East, North Africa); 10. (India, Burma); 11. (Alaska, Aleutian Islands); 12. (North Africa, Italy); 13. (Solomon Islands) and 14. (China). In the first years of the war, the P-40 helped the Allies contain the momentum of the Axis offensive and defend the last frontiers, such as Kunming in China, Port Moresby in New Guinea, Darwin in Australia and El Alamein in Egypt. With time, relegated to fighter-bomber tasks, gradually gave way to designs with better performance.
